Independent pharmacy chain renews sponsorship with Scottish football club

An independent pharmacy chain in Scotland has struck an agreement to extend a shirt sponsorship deal with the country’s oldest football club for the fourth successive season.

M & D Green, which has 35 branches spanning Ayrshire, Forth Valley, Glasgow, Inverness-shire, Inverclyde, Lanarkshire, Lothian, Renfrewshire and Tayside, will continue to have its logo emblazoned on the shirts of Queen’s Park, who play in the Scottish Championship, for the 2024-25 season.

The pharmacy chain and football club have strengthened links in recent years. Shortly after M & D Green renewed their sponsorship a year ago, Queen’s Park hosted a Charity Awareness Day during one of their matches.

In March, M & D Green invited over 100 people from their social partner Quarriers, one of Scotland’s leading social care charities, to a match between Queen’s Park and Raith Rovers at Hampden Park.

Queen’s Park’s head of commercial Kieran Koszary said: “It was a great success and showed visibly the shared values between us all. M & D Green is a strong and dynamic business who are committed to their local communities and everyone at Queen’s Park is thrilled they have chosen to increase their support for the club.”

Koszary said the club, alongside M & D Green, plans to run free Health MOTs for players and coaching staff and a competition for 11 season ticket holders to win a health MOT which will cover blood pressure, body temperature, pulse, ear health, weight management and lifestyle advice, as well as chest auscultations, blood glucose and cholesterol checks.

Campbell Thomson from M & D Green said: “There are many parallels between our company and Queen’s Park football Club, particularly in terms of how we build relationships together and with other parties for good.

“We have enjoyed being in partnership with the club for the past three years and are looking forward to working with them and their fan base in this current season.”
